The American Howard Head developed the first ski in sandwich construction in 1947. At the time, he was skiing for the first time and was disappointed by the heavy and stiff material of the skis, which were made entirely of wood. ION is a brand run by people who have dedicated their passion to water sports. Founded in 2004, ION has always focused on the development and production of wetsuits for the international windsurf, kitesurf, surf, SUP and wakeboard scene. The product range also includes water sports harnesses, travel bags, technical accessories for water sports and an apparel collection.

 

The VDWS was founded in 1974 to represent the interests of windsurfers and sailors. Today, the VDWS also takes care of the kitesurfers. The central concern of the VDWS is the supervision and support of instructors and surf schools, the regulation of training and the creation of standards.

Thus, the VDWS developed and introduced the windsurfing basic license, which guarantees a uniform training and defines a minimum standard for windsurfers. Since 2000 there is also a uniform training for kitesurfing instructors.

Still today the VDWS is the standard for all who want to learn windsurfing or kitesurfing and then practice the sport worldwide with a certificate. There are still numerous spots for windsurfing and of course kitesurfing, which can only be used with a valid license from the VDWS.

Since January 2014, the training organization SSI, which was acquired by the parent company, joins Mares on the market and complete the offer in the segment of diving.

JOOLA was founded by Karl Frey, the former owner of the Landau department store chain Fr. Th. Jooss. The Jooss sports department was involved in the first production of table tennis tables in 1952. As early as 1954, table tennis table production became an independent department within the Jooss company. In the 1950s it was common to combine company names and cities. This is how the name of the brand JOOLA came about - a combination of JOOss and LAndau.

After great success and enormous popularity, JOOLA established itself as an independent company and moved to Godramstein in 1963. The company experienced exponential growth and quickly reached production capacity at the new location despite taking over additional buildings. In 1973, JOOLA opened the new company building in Siebeldingen with a production area of 1,800 m², 1,200 m² of storage space and 700 m² of office space. Management

DHBW Ravensburg is a state-run university that has been successfully training engineers and business administrators in the dual system of hotel and catering management for over 25 years. During the three-year study program, the BA teaches the scientific content and methods, which are supplemented by practical skills during the practical phases in the companies.
 
For more than 20 years, ROBINSON has been training hotel managers together with the DHBW (degree: Bachelor of Arts) and also uses the DHBW for the professional training of junior managers.
